How semsway.com handles data, what gets collected, and what does not.

  • What we collect: anonymous, aggregated visit data via Cloudflare Web Analytics. No accounts. No forms.
  • What we use it for: understanding which posts get read so we can write better ones.
  • What we do not do: we do not sell, rent, or share personal data. We do not run ads. We do not use third-party trackers, marketing pixels, or identity-graph services.

Information We Collect

semsway.com is a static blog. There is no backend, no user accounts, no comments system, no contact form, no newsletter signup. Nothing on this site asks you for personal information.

The only data processed on your behalf is what your browser automatically sends when loading any web page:

  • IP-derived approximate location (country / city level)
  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system and device type
  • Referring page (where you came from)
  • Pages visited and time spent

This is processed by Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is designed not to use cookies or fingerprinting and to keep visitor data anonymous and aggregated.

We do not link any of this to a person.

How We Use Your Information

The aggregated data above is used to:

  • See which posts people actually read.
  • Spot performance issues (slow pages, broken links).
  • Understand traffic patterns over time.

That’s it. Your data is never used for marketing, retargeting, or outreach.

Cookies

semsway.com itself does not set any cookies. Cloudflare Web Analytics does not require cookies. Your browser may store a small amount of local data for the site’s own preferences (for example: dark/light theme toggle), but this never leaves your browser.

Third-Party Services

The site relies on a small set of providers to deliver content:

  • Cloudflare - hosting, CDN, DNS, SSL, and Web Analytics.
  • Google Fonts - serves the typefaces used on the site. Your browser fetches font files directly from Google.
  • GitHub API - the /projects/ page fetches the list of public repositories from api.github.com directly in your browser. This is a public, unauthenticated request.

Each provider has its own privacy policy. Data they process is governed by their terms.

Data Retention

Cloudflare Web Analytics retains aggregated traffic data on rolling windows defined by Cloudflare. We do not store or export this data.

Because we do not collect personal data ourselves, there is no personal data retention on our side.

Data Security

The site is served over HTTPS via Cloudflare, with TLS certificates managed by Cloudflare. Static content is hosted on Cloudflare Workers’ edge network. No internet transmission can be guaranteed 100% secure, but the attack surface here is minimal: there is no database, no user accounts, no forms.

Your Data Protection Rights

Depending on where you live (GDPR / CCPA / etc.), you may have rights regarding personal data. Because we do not hold a customer database, in most cases there is nothing tied to you to access, correct, or delete on our side.

Children’s Information

This site is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child interacted with the site in a way that may have collected such data, please reach out and we will take reasonable steps to address it.
